For this blog assignment I decided to read the article Sexuality
and Society by Kinsey , Pomeroy and Martin . The article was very interesting
as well a informative .It mainly talked about sexual orientation " the heterosexual and
homosexual balance " .
The article claims that there is a big amount people tend to classify people by
their sexuality which thinks that this sexual orientation is strongly define .
In reality according to the article there is a lot of people that have a
bisexual orientation and that a remarkable amount of people have try a bisexual
relationship .
This fact was very surprising for me . I have friends with different a sexual
orientation but non of them have declared them selves as bisexual . I start
thinking that maybe people don't declare themselves as bisexual even though
have try it and like it . As a matter of fact we have to realize that the words
is not to be divided into ships and goats as the article claims . We have to
realized that in the world there is not just one choice and there is nothing
wrong to be in between choices .
Hi Jhose, thanks for bringing up a good point that nothing wrong to be a combination of both. I have some girl friends from my high school; they went out with guys as well as tomboys. But they never admitted themselves as bisexual. When I asked them if they like girls or guys, they would answer me they like girls. Some people are lucky to clearly understand their sexual orientation, but some people struggle with that because they don’t even know which way they belong. To me, I just think that we are trying to figure out which way they should belong to. Reading your blog helps me to know you a little bit better. What a good semester I have with you. ReplyDeleteNice blog Jhose! I agree with your point that the world there is not just one choice and there is nothing wrong to be in between choices. In my country, if people are bisexual, they don't come out publicly about that. They think that is a shame. That means they are hiding who they are. They must feel that they want to be accepted by others. But in the reality, there is not a social environment where those people can be the way they are in Japan. I used to have a bias about them when I was in Japan. But since I came here, there is many people who have different types of sexual orientation. Therefore, I'm not surprised about that anymore.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you guys nothing is wrong with being bisexual I think its the state of mind that makes people believe its wrong like they want to make gays seem bad but if you like both sexes its even worse. I believe we are in a time and area that people are sexually open to different things and I dont think its ever going to change back to how it used to be more conservative based because of everything that gives us ideas like the media and such for example lady gaga she has alot of music videos where she is "bi sexual" i put it in qoutes for her because im not sure if she does it for fans or if she is really gay. But anyways i love lady gaga lol
